I am starting to get into a happy kind of anxiety for the wedding. This must be how my cats feel when my mom wiggles her toes under a blanket. You know there's something there but good golly gosh how to get at it?

I really hope I didnt miss anything - there is so much left to think about. And it is getting harder and harder to concentrate at the office....

Its two weeks and counting....

My outfits are ready at the tailors for fittings. All the gifts for the groom are at the Bridal Store being arranged in baskets boxes with flowers and ribbons and things. What is it I need to do this weekend? Order my bouquet.... hunt about for a viel.... and.... lemme see.... have a facial?

I'm thinking white lilies with yellow and white roses. Really fresh, clean and beautiful.

I cannot help but keep looking at my engagement ring, its a constant reminder that somebody loves me and wants to be with me for always. It kinda puts everything in perspective for me. It makes me happier than anything else really could right now :)

It's about three weeks from the wedding and lots of people are asking - are you ready?

Well for most part, yes. The clothes should be ready for fittings soon. I've got hold of most of my accessories, its just the veil that's pending. Most of the invitations have gone out. Venues are sorted. Just 2 weeks of work before I can start my leave. I've even had my hen night for which Jojo, Nora and Nana outdid themselves. It was small, intimate and best of all a night to remember.

I've even gone on the Khursus Nikah that everyone giggles about. Actually not everyone giggles.. some get rather put off when they learn about the different responsiblities you take on with marriage. I never realised that I could not step out of the house without my hubby's say-so. Although I don't think this will be a problem. Hehe. Zul will just have to prepare himself with my bombarding his mobile's inbox with updates of my whereabouts. "watering the garden hun" "hanging out the washing" "out to get petrol" This should slowly drive any man insane :)

Seriously though I suppose that since I am his responsibility he does have a right to know where I am and what I am up to.

It was a kinda useful course. You know what you are bound to under the laws of religion. I am glad that it was delivered in a mix of serious and seriously amusing one hour and a half. If you can, people, ask for the express course. Saves lots of time and you go over the same stuff anyways.

In Malay culture, the whole family should get involved with the planning and orchestration of a wedding. I have to say that in this case, it is mostly my parents running the show. I guess its becoming more of the norm that family expect to just show up for eats. Some even make coming to the wedding sound a right chore...

Sad the way some things evolve with time. But I have learnt which relatives you can count on. I guess that's worth something right?

I said I would post a wedding wish list. I'm sure there are other things I could ask for but really I just want people to be there if they can to share my day and be happy with me.

Its a shame that there is no such thing as a wedding registry in Brunei or a service that takes your list and organises things with your friends and relatives so you get what you want in the way and amount you want it.

Not that I'd ever be ungrateful for any gift I did receive but I cannot contemplate what to do with let's say 6 rice cookers and four toasters.

Also since I have a place of my own, I already have most household items. Tricky eh?

I blog about this after a friend asked me what I would like for a wedding gift. I had to think really hard because I had no idea. Zul will already be giving me so much as part of the wedding process, there really isn't anything in particular I can think of...

Besides from pretty lingerie, that is...

FYI I'm a size 10 UK *wink*

I'll post a wishlist sometime just for the heck of it and see what happens.

  How you doin'? *wink*
I've been good :) Very busy actually. I'm doing audits part time and it takes me out of the office over the past 2 months. And on weekedns the wedding planning has me very very busy. I came back from KL with 50kg excess baggage. I've never shopped so hard in my life! My grandpa has also baru keluar hospital after a lung infection so... maybe this weekend I can catch up on sleep and see my girls for a change

The wedding is gonna be held over a single weekend - 4 functions in 3 days. The Bersanding will be at the in a hotel banquet room. The rest will be at home. Its getting manic at home as well... my room has been completely redone for the first time since I was 11 :)

Have you got any tips for me? I'm having all my clothes tailored since all the materials were outrageously cheaper in KL. It actually works out cheaper than renting to wear something first time from a local Bridal store - I swear!

Only thing I have yet to settle is makeup. Went to this one guy on the weekend and came out looking like a drag queen... outrageously fake lashes with goth eye liner with slime green eyeshadow...the blusher actually managed to make my face look flatter instead of bringing out any cheekbones. You have no idea how much i wanted to scream when I saw it... This weekend is a trial with someone with better references. I'm hoping for the best.... but I am open to suggestions! Please let me know if there is anyone who would be good to try!

Sorry for going on and on I guess I am kinda excited.

I'm off to KL this weekend to shop with my mom and my grandmom for wedding stuff. Amongst which what I will be wearing will play a big big role. Mild stress will probably be an incredible understatement for the whole affair.... *yikes*.

I'm just very very thankful that its almost bonus time.

A wedding diary... amongst other things
